Early November is a wonderful time the be in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. on this Veterans Day weekend as a variety of events and festivities Around the Valley. With cooler weather here and a forecast for sunshine there is no reason to stay indoors. Saturday has two big events for creative artists, architects, designers and those who appreciate their work. Rancho Mirage the annual Art Affaire is happening at Whitewater Park both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday evening he Palm Springs Museum is hosting their famous meet the Museum party at their satellite Museum in Palm Desert. This is a new lineup of Palm Springs Art Museum’s roster and annual meet Museum party in Palm Springs will occur in the spring as usual. Two art parties are better than one.
Also on Saturday is the Perez Road Fall Festival in Cathedral city. This will be my first time attending a street fair that excited to see what it consists of. There is a well-known collection of modern and vintage furniture and art stores just off of Perez road as well as many tile and stone showrooms… so I’m sure there will be architectural presence to some extent.
I am looking forward to seeing the Palm Springs Art Museum’s Palm Desert campus as I have not had the chance to visit since they opened earlier this year. From what I have seen and heard the architecture does a nice job lending itself to the sculpture galleries contained within the museum. I’m also curious to see how a party such as meet the museum handles itself on the floor full of food and drinks as you walk through the famous pieces of art. I can imagine the museum’s curators and staff keep their eyes on people who will potentially damage themselves or the art as the night progresses.
As I mentioned in the opening line the weather is fantastic once again. The temperatures have dropped and I can say that I comfortably wore a long sleeved shirt for the first time since the spring. This means it’s time to break out your fall wardrobe and put it to good use! (I’m excited about that)
I will be out and about all weekend with my beloved Palm Springs architects and friends. Stop by and say hello up on the events where you can find me.
